Letter to Deparment of Motor Vehicles Commissioner Richard C. Holcomb
David Alan, Carmichael
Ltr. Ser. #97/06/26/01
Richard C. Holcomb
Dear Honorable Commissioner: I have recently learned of errors in your internal files. I was told by a clerk at the Department of Motor Vehicles office (DMV) in Newport News that I needed to contact you to have your records corrected. I have been compelled by the Lord God through His Holy Word and by the Holy Spirit that I and my Household are prohibited from participating in Social Security, obtaining a Social Security Number or any number which I will be prohibited from engaging in commerce or penalized if I do not disclose such number. I was told by the clerk at the DMV that your internal files indicate a Social Security Number on your records with my wife's name on them. Your records are in error and it is grievous to our souls. I do not know what your internal records with my name on them say but it is grievous to my soul if they indicate a Social Security Number associated with my name. I, David Alan, Carmichael and my wife, Leslie Young, Carmichael do not, and cannot, have Social Security Numbers due to the prohibitions of our faith and the commandment of the Living God. I know this pleading is suitable for remedy of the situation. The Commissioners of Social Security and Internal Revenue do not contest the prohibitions of our faith so I am sure there is no reason for the Commonwealth of Virginia to contest it either. Please relieve my anxieties by informing me when your files are corrected within the next thirty days.
Sincerely,
David Alan, Carmichael
